RULES

  • Entry to BBQ Cook Off is on-line. Payment may be made on-line.
  • Teams will consist of a CHIEF COOK and team members. Each team will receive two season passes to the Fayette County Fair.
  • Lone Star BBQ rules will be followed. These rules may be found at www.lonestarbarbecue.com
  • Cookers may enter grounds on August 27th after 5 p.m. to Friday, August 28th to set up. Contact the chairman before setting up. If an earlier time for set up is requested contact the chairman. Security will not be provided for early set-up. No set up is allowed on the Food Court Area.
  • Categories to be judged: Pinto Beans, Chicken, Pork Spare/St. Louis Ribs, Pork Butt, Steak and Beef Brisket only. Chicken, ribs and brisket will qualify for the over-all championship.
  • Meat check-in starts at 3-5 p.m. on Friday, August 28th. Meat must be raw, thawed, and unseasoned except for steak it may be seasoned.
  • The Chief Cooks meeting is Friday, August 28th at 6:00 PM with Calcutta following at 6:30 PM.
  • JUDGING TIMES ON Saturday, August 29:10:30 AM Pinto Beans; 11:30 AM Chicken; 1:00 PM Ribs;2:00 PM Pork Butt, 3:00 Brisket, 4:00 Steak
  • 25 x 25 Cooking Area will be provided for each team. **Extra space is available, talk to the chairman**
  • No electric hook-ups will be provided. Each team must supply their own equipment/generator.
  • FAYETTE COUNTY FAIR ASSOCIATION WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEFT/DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT LEFT AT THE FAIRGROUNDS.
  • Fires must be of wood/wood substance. No gas fires allowed (gas burner allowed for cooking beans).
  • The Chief Cook is responsible for their team, guests and cooking area. Excessive drinking or fighting will not be tolerated and will be grounds for disqualification and removal from the grounds. Violators will be banned from cooking at FCF BBQ Events.
  • State laws related to alcohol consumption will be enforced.
  • ALL ENTRIES & PAYMENTS MUST BE TURNED IN TO THE CHAIRMAN BY FRIDAY, AUGUST 22nd.
  • Cash and trophies will be awarded.
  • The Chairman has the final decision as situations warrant.
  • CURFEW: Music/guests are off/out by midnight each night.
  • No vehicles, ATV/UTV, Golf Carts, Animals, or Glass allowed in cooking area.
  • All trash must be placed in the provided dumpsters and leave your cooking area like you found it.

5) Meat check will be Friday, August 28th from 3-5 p.m. Meat must be raw, thawed and unseasoned.

15) Cash and trophies will be awarded.
